Interior Design Project Descriptions

AQUA VERDE KITCHEN

The homeowners requested that we turn their dark, cramped kitchen into a space worthy of their high-end Westlake home. The materials we used needed to appear completely custom while being respectful of the client’s strict budget.

In order to keep costs to a minimum, we decided it was best to skip the upgrade and use the client’s existing, perfectly functional appliances. The kitchen’s overall footprint remained the same as well, which made the construction costs much more manageable. Keeping the original wood floor as part of the design was another huge money saver, as removing and laying flooring can get pricey.

Our cost saving allowed us to allocate more of the budget to high-end materials and finishes. We chose shaker style cabinets with a modern two-toned paint combination in order to make the small space feel more open. For the backsplash, we went with handcrafted zellige tile. This trendy tile added some much-needed texture to the space while still keeping things light and bright.

When it comes to kitchen design, countertops are arguably one of the most important elements. And in a small space, the countertops have to make a statement. For this project, we chose a durable engineered stone featuring a show-stopping waterfall edge at the peninsula.

Our main goal with every project is to provide a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The chosen materials resulted in the much-desired open and airy feel while still providing an ample amount of functional kitchen storage.

TRAVIS HEIGHTS BATH

As this was the primary bath, the space needed to coincide with the home’s overall Tuscan aesthetic. The homeowners informed us they enjoy escaping into nature as much as possible. So, keeping their lifestyle in mind, we set out to create a design that would bring the outdoors in, but also provide an inviting space to unwind after their adventures.

In order to achieve our design goal, and create a functional, spa-like experience for our clients, we focused on natural material selections that would complement the home’s rich wood tones and limestone exterior.

The Travis Heights bath features a stunning marbled wall tile that introduces the natural color palate into the space. The tile highlights the deep wood tones that are prevalent throughout the rest of the home and in the custom vanities. The dual floating vanities were created specifically for this project. They’re not only aesthetically pleasing, but they provide plenty of functional storage for everyday use.

The end result was a practical, simple, and inviting space that merged seamlessly with the home’s existing Tuscan aesthetic and the clients’ nature-focused lifestyle.
