Hello there! We’re Anne Marie Photography, and we’re a mother daughter duo based in Detroit. With our shared artistic ability, and a combined education including a bachelor’s degree in photography from the College for Creative Studies, my mother and I decided to turn our passions into a business. Being cut from the same cloth definitely has its perks! Our similar creative eye allows us to capture more than memories in photos that you and your family will adore for generations.
Meet the Team:
Carina: owner, photographer, editor, coordinator
Carina’s creative vision was obvious since she was a young girl. She was fascinated by her mother’s old film cameras, and she would often borrow them to secretly take photos of her own, which her mom would notice once they were developed. Her artistic passion for photography started in high school as a National Art Honor Society member, and it has only grown since then. While working towards her photography degree at CCS in Detroit, Carina and her mom decided they wanted to use their talent to help others preserve memories, so they established Ann Marie Photography in 2008. Carina’s favorite part about being a photographer is the ability to freeze time for her clients. Moments are fleeting, especially the big ones, so having the opportunity to capture her client’s precious memories is the best job she could ask for.
Cynthia: Partner, photographer, coordinator
Cynthia has always had a passion for art. Her love of photography began when she was working at the well-known Olan Mills Studios where she gained experience working with a variety of clients including families, babies, seniors and even pets! After having children, she bought her own equipment and began working as a freelance photographer. During this time her children and pets were often her subjects, which is when she noticed her daughter’s interest in photography. She watched Carina’s talent grow throughout high school and college, and was happy to join forces with her and start a business. Cynthia loves working with her daughter, and she is constantly impressed by her talent and professionalism. Her favorite part about being a photographer is the challenge of properly posing large groups, and of course capturing intimate moments. She loves that her and Carina work so well together, and can make their clients feel comfortable during their session.
